“Wonderful New World” was organised by Francisco Manuel dos Santos Foundation, took place in Oporto, Portugal, whilst Vigo, Spain, hosted “Organización 2.0 / XIII Conferencia Internacional de la APTE”.
In Spain Ana Neves talked about “How much does digital collaboration cost?”. The agenda of this event included success cases of organisations which are implementing digital strategies.
In Oporto she was the moderator of the session titled “Digital Republic”, during which Andrew Chadwick (Royal Holloway, University of London), Francisca Bria (Nesta Innovation Lab) and Mário Campolargo (DG Connect) talked about open data, transparency, hybrid media channels for citizen engagement, etc..
In both events Ana Neves heard speakers mention that, despite innovation and technological development, Politics seems not to have changed. “I do not believe technological development and innovation can, or should, be led by the public sector. However, it is vital that Government manages to stay one step ahead, innovating, considering possible future scenarios, and creating appropriate policies”, says Ana Neves.
